Why does the world have borders?
Why does the world have borders? That's a good question. Personally, i have never pondered that myself. It's, in a sense, the same reason why we all have different houses to live in. The United States has been claimed the most prosperous country in the world, but what makes it different than the rest? Well, for one the way the United States is run. Our government is a lot more fair than many other countries. Also, we are NOT a poor country. But, if we are so great, then why don't we share our wealth with the rest of the world? Every single person has a right to their own opinion. And in my opinion i think it has to do with selfishness. Of course there are organizations that fund to help those in need but we could be doping a lot more. The world was created without borders, so why have them now? To separate opinions, to keep from one country messing up the next. Who really knows? Sometimes it seems borders are unnessacery but what if we didn't have them? How would we be able to know that we are safe? If we didn't have borders than we wouldn't have seperate countries and without separate countries we wouldnt have an orderly government system. So one person would be manning the whole world and that wouldn't nessacerly work out. In the end, borders are a good thing to have but we need to sort out our priorities and find out why we put them there in the first place.

i found this very interesting i liked the part where you say to separate opinions because i believe the same thing
Borders were pretty much a European thing -- and you're right that without them there would be chaos. Borders & countries as we know it began in the 1648 (or thereabouts) with the Treaty of Westphalia.. but even though they were instated to fight off chaos, life is still chaotic! I think some of the current countries would be better off without them (like in Africa, for example), but there are some good things about borders too.
It's a weird thing that we do.. drawing lines in sand and calling it here and there. Thanks for grappling with the question. I appreciate your thoughts.
