What can High Tech High Chula Vista do to benefit the border region?
As teenagers we are put into a category as people that don't care about their surroundings. But if you talk to us, you will realize that we do care and we do want to help. I attend High Tech High Chula Vista and I think we need to find a way to benefit the border region. There are many ways we can contribute to our society, and to the border region. For one, we just finished with our debate tournaments and we became very knowledgeable on multiple topics. We could share the knowledge we learned with those across the border so they can be successful and prosperous in their own country. That way they don't have to feel like they must immigrate to the United States to do well in life. We could also open up the eyes of the Chula Vista residents by showing them the harms the United States and Mexico cause each other. There are many ways we could help but i think making people more knowledgeable might be the best way. We could also raise money and have toy drives for the orphans in Mexico. We could try and get more involved with what's going on and look up ways we could help Mexican residents. Sometimes all people need is some one to talk to. And we could give them that as well.
